    Explorer/Destroyer I.D. Question

Hey everyone, is this thing still on?

Not sure if this site's going more or less dead but wanted a little help with some confusion.

Which Destroyer is this on the left in this pic?

Is it just the same Ibanez that was painted white and wound up The Shark guitar eventually?

    or is it something else?

    Thanks.

IIRC, that's Chris Holmes' destroyer that was he gave to Eddie for the WACF sessions. He had retired the Shark guitar already.

Also Van Halen Rising just posted that guitar more recently that this guy in Pasadena (Doug Anderson) has now.

And he did play the shark on 1980 tour at least once... there's a pic

I love how this guy insults us, then proceeds to ask a question!

Ed always claims he destroyed the sound/tone of the shark by cutting into the body.
Yet, he still used it on stage...

I never know what to believe, when it comes to those early Eddie interviews.

Are you saying I insulted you?

Insulted the site, with your first two comments preceding the question.

I was not insulted, but thought it was funny.

Well evidently "the site" is a little sensitive

It wasn't meant as any kind of insult- I joined up here a few years ago and in the last year or 6 months it seems to me that the activity and traffic here has slowed down a lot- so really I was just referencing that. I think this is actually a very cool site if I were to judge-- which I wasn't intending to do at all

I hope activity here picks back up. I'm sure it ebbs and flows over time, and I'm obviously no long standing veteran here.

That's very cool. Holmes' Destroyer seems to have the same paint job as Ed's did when it was white, only in red.

Yeah, sorry, my initial comment was meant more in jest.

This place is on life support, no doubt.
I always felt like CVH should be a bigger draw than a Sammy affiliated site.
    Sadly, i was wrong...

Just think, that guitar was on "Romeo Delight!"

I also love the natural body strat, in the background.
I'm sure that guitar was used, as well.
