What a weird, corporate scene. It's like they can't do a press conference without a corporate setting, The suited dudes are incredibly dorky, and I have no idea why they wanted to put on a huge music festival.
Not much from Roth, but it's still interesting to a die hard like me. It's cool that he isn't afraid to speak up. The guy from The Clash is hilarious to me. It's so obvious that it's a schtick, it's practically WWE.

It can't be "Van Halen" without Roth, any more than it can be "Van Halen" without Eddie.

Yeah, i had the same reaction to the Clash, a band i quite liked.
Everyone is an entertainer, i guess.
You just gotta find your little gimmick or niche & run with it.
And sure, Dave obviously had his ("What's that you say? Yeah, this is real Jack Daniels...this
    ain't Quiet Riot, MAAAAN!")

I noticed Waylon Jennings on the left but who was the guy next to him? Someone from the Clash maybe?

Kozmo Vinyl, manager of The Clash.

Ever hear the original demo of "Rock the Casbah", written by the drummer (i think).
It's the gayest thing you have ever heard.

But then Joe Strummer adds his thing, fucks it up a bit, rewrites some bits, and it
    becomes a kick ass tune!

    You want dance music?
Listen to "Sandinista," where Strummer re-works that whole genre.
    And, again, it sounds badass.

I only like their dance stuff, their straight punk stuff is mostly shitty to me. (I'm So Bored With The USA, Tommy Gun, etc.)

    "Train In Vain"
    "London Calling"
    "This Is Radio Clash"

Hear "Bankrobber" dancing stoned in a club, with a great soundsystem, and a DJ zapping your mind with effects....life-changing.

They have a lot of clunkers, just embarrassingly bad music. They were always rushing to release stuff, so they have lots of filler. But when they get things right, it's glorious.

Don't forget "Clampdown" and "Magnificent 7."

    SICK bassline!

Some punk kid attempted to sell me on the first Clash album & the e.p., "Black market clash."
I remember not liking either one.
