I'd say that's true with me as well. Sometimes tracks get a little stale.

Then, when you go back to them after not hearing them for a while, they always sound great!

    VH: Little Dreamer...like everyone else
VHII: Women in Love...just my least liked. Still like it.
WACF: That one song with Sammy on it (exactly)
FW: I honestly sometimes don't want to listen to Hear About it Later
    DD: Dancing in the Streets
1984: I'll Wait. I'd rather listen to Jump
ADKOT: besides Tattoo, sometimes Big River.

I dig "Little Dreamer"! I don't understand why it is dismissed so often. I consider it a "period piece". I think the lyrics are really autobiographical. I think that is how Roth sees himself, and I find it funny, and interesting that he would present himself that way. It has a very "70's community college, theater class" vibe to it, a bit of "Godspell" in there. Or maybe "Hair"

I can picture Roth being a complete joke when he was taking those classes at Pasadena CC.

It can't be "Van Halen" without Roth, any more than it can be "Van Halen" without Eddie.

Van Halen 1: Jamie's Cryin (I never really dug the song, it's kinda "rock by numbers" for VH)
Van Halen 2: Dance The Night Away (I love the song but it gets alot of air time on the radio so I skip it)
WACF: Could This Be Magic (ONLY because In A Simple Rhyme is next!)
FW: Push Comes To Shove (Great song, great solo, it's just not as rockin' as the rest of the tunes)
DD: Pretty Woman & Dancin' In The Streets (Easily the worst CVH songs EVER!)
    1984: 1984
    ADKOT: Tattoo

I think "I'll Wait" is my favorite tune on 1984.
It's a ballad, but with an edge & a cool vulnerability.
Love the opening keyboard melody, and the driving keyboard riff.
Unlike "Jump", Ed got the keyboard thing right on this one.
It sounds majestic, not dorky & thin (like the 'Jump' riff).

One of my fave Alex performances is also on, "I'll Wait."
I love the "splash" on this one.

Great tune, great vocals & lyrics, gorgeous 'off the wall' solo, excellent drum sound.
WZLX plays this song a lot, and i understand why.

You guys hate all the wrong tunes!

"You're no good" is just killer, listen to that ballsy guitar work.

    Exclamation

I don't skip a damn tune from the CVH catalogue.

    Nothing - Nada - Zero!
Wolfgang Van Halen - "I love being a bass player. Its just me and Al a groove section. Just boom, boom, boom, and were good". GW
    ---
Edward Van Halen - "What is next for Wolf is the next record and the next tour. Hes no different than I am. Music is his life. If he goes back to school, Ill probably go with him. GC
