Hot damn! I wish they would play Loss Of Control live again!

I love how they did "Dance the Night Away" back then. Much more up-tempo!

Haha, every song they did back then was more up tempo than the album versions. Amazing.

Ahhhh what I wouldn't give to have seen these guys in those early years. Classic VH only played in my sparsely populated province of Saskatchewan once. It was September 22, 1979. At the time I was 11... and just being introduced to Van Halen.

    The setlist: Perfection.

    1.Light Up the Sky
    2.Somebody Get Me a Doctor
    3.Drum Solo
    4.Runnin' With the Devil
    5.Dance the Night Away
    6.Beautiful Girls
    7.On Fire
    8.Bass Solo
    9.You're No Good
    10.Jamie's Cryin'
    11.Feel Your Love Tonight
    12.Outta Love Again
    13.Ice Cream Man
    14.Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love
    15.Guitar Solo
    (Eruption and Spanish Fly)
    16.You Really Got Me
    17.Bottoms Up!
    18.Atomic Punk

During this most recent tour, there was a brief, albeit erroneous internet mix up that Van Halen would return to our province in May 2012. It was even posted briefly on ticketdisaster. Broke my heart when the truth was revealed they would not visit us here.

I too LOVE the electricity in this version of Dance the Night Away Wimpy. Hell the whole clip is on fire.

    Great find!
hehe..I'm just the opposite,I hate when bands speed everything up.It's like 'Unchained' in '84...way too fast.'79 tour will always be my fav for DTNA.
Great friend of mine saw the 1980 tour.I was to young too go.I got some boots in the mid 90's so I could at least get an idea what he witnessed. But,I've had to hear for all these years about what I missed."Oh man you missed it Eddie was on fire"...blah,blah,blah...and I was the one who turned him onto VH!!!There's no justice in this world.
He does still thank me once in awhile for getting him into VH.He never forgot that.

Unchained doesn't sound as good too fast, I agree.

In '84 the sounded like they were on speed for that track.
