    The 5150 Guitar (Builders info)

    This post is for all of those out there that want to build a 5150 but are not quite sure on the info. If something is incorrect let me know and I will correct it.

    Kramer 5150
    Body: Poplar
    Shape: Pacer Special
    Neck: Maple
    Neck Design: Pacer Special modified (Skunk Stripe)
    Neck Finish: Unfinished
    Neck Truss Rod Adjustment: Heel (bottom rather than side)
    Tremolo: Floyd Rose Original
    Tremolo Springs: 2
    Pickup: Custom 8 ohm humbucker
    Pickup Magnet: Alnico 2
    Tuners: Gotoh 90 Degree tuners
    Strings: Ernie Ball Classic Rock and Roll Super slinky
    Volume pot: 500K
    Volume Knob: MXR
    Locking Nut: Original Release
    Paint: Schwin (Krylon) Red, Black, White
    Tape Sizes: 3/4" (Black)
    3/16" (White)
    1/2" (White)
    1/8" (White)

    I'm not sure about the Kramer's, but I know that Eddie used Fender 9 gauge strings on his Frankie.

    He absolutely used .009's on the Kramer.The old '5150' branded strings from the '80s were nickel coated .009's...

    Yeah, but it's the brand of strings that makes the difference. Fender and EBMM strings sound totally different and they play differently too!

    I heard that back in the early days of the Frankie, Eddie used .008's.

    I'm sorry dude, I can not get the Webmaster of Ulitimate EVH.com's e-mail address, no one seems to have it but I'm still trying.

    Where exactly are you getting these "facts" from? The body wood and pick up are still up for debate!

    Yea there are a few things wrong here! Like schwin paint on the 5150? I doubt anything past the frankie ever saw schwin paint

    All over the place. I'm checking them off of each other to make sure that I weed out what's wrong and right. Your right I should not call them facts. Like I said they may not all be right that's why I'm up for correction.
