   Better Off Dead

1985
This comedy starring John Cusack and David Ogden Tiers features the song "Everybody Wants Some!!" from Women and Children First during a scene when Lane Myer (Cusack's character) is daydreaming while working at a hamburger joint.  He pretends he is a mad scientist in the vein of Frankenstein, turning a raw hamburger patty into a "living" rock and roll beefcake.  The stop-animation scene features the burger jamming on a striped guitar, similar to Edward's "Shark" guitar seen on the Women and Children First cover, and singing "Everybody Wants Some!!"  Originally, the tune was uncredited, but when the video was re-released to the general public on 8/26/97, credit for the song's usage had been added.

 Fast Times at Ridgemont High
1982
There are two mentions of Van Halen in this movie.

VH Scene 1: In the beginning, two kids approach Damone about Van Halen tickets. He says they are 20 bucks apiece, and the kids say that the face value is 12.50 each. After Damone says take it or leave it and the kids purchase, Damone looks at Rat and says " I just made 16 bucks!"
Note:
This is a known movie error..... If the kids paid $40 for something that was $25-- shouldn't he have only made $15?

VH Scene 2:  At the end of the movie it is mentioned that Spicoli's only significant thing he did after high school was to save Brooke Shields from drowning and waste the reward money on hiring Van Halen to play at his birthday party.

VH Scene: During the middle of the movie there is a funny dialogue between Chaz (Fraser) and a fake record company executive who happens to be an undercover cop.  Chaz, trying to determine if the record exec is indeed a cop, asks him who he stood behind in the David Lee Roth / Van Halen split.  The record exec replied "Ahhh....Van Halen".  The answer proves to Chaz and the rest of the guys that he is a cop.
