Dave & Ed are the icons, no offense to Mike or Alex.
John Bonham could be an icon, as far as drummer's go.
I can't wait for that issue, btw.
The new one in the states (we are always a month behind) fearures Alice Cooper on the cover. I just saw it at work.

Dave and Ed are the icons. They epitomise 80's rock. Al isn't and nor is Mike. Drumming icons ; it's gotta be Keith Moon, and J.B. The bass ; ..mmmm tricky one that - Macca (he aint rock tho), Jack Bruce, Pete Entwhistle, maybe Billy Sheehan, Geddy Lee ..gosh, thats a tough category to pick, these guys are'nt really iconic...but the mag prolly is'nt by category.

But I'm gonna forego the Sunday papers and buy Classsic Rock instead.

It's gotta be Dave and Ed, but in my opinion, Ed in particular. For me Ed is THE classic rock icon: he epitomises everything that is great about classic rock guitar playing and the flamboyance and style of that era. It's the reason we're all still posting on a site like this today.

Dave is also iconic, don't get me wrong, probably the most stylish and coolest frontman in rock history (even above Robert Plant and guys like that), with a seriously underrated voice too. But everyone will always remember Ed - like Top Jimmy, he's the King baby!

...and that's why people in the business and just music fans in general thought that Dave's name was 'Van' or that Eddie Van Halen had long blonde hair...
