Well, it beats the three tunes we got with Hagar. Bizarre outlet for new music though, an adult film soundtrack? Very weird.

Rise sounds a lot like a Satriani track to my ears. Not bad, but kind of lazy, IMO. Different style for Ed, but it's not quite adventurous enough do anything for me - Satch sounds a bit more spontaneous, not as structured, in his work of this type. Catherine reminds me a lot of Respect The Wind. I can't really see these tracks on an adult film soundtrack, but at least EVH is branching out a little in his spare time.
"I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I dont care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it. My affections, being concentrated over a few people, are not spread all over Hell in a vile attempt to placate sulky, worthless shits."

Ok so I was slightly over exagurating when i said better than Vai. I've been listening to the 2 alot. Im not as keen on 'Rise' but I absolutly love 'Catherine' best thing Ed's turned out in years. Different from what he's done before, totally sweet. But I can't really see it fitting in on a porno soundtrack :S

Don Corleone, a good friend from a lot of =VH= oriented sites, just posted this picture at the EVH.com board. Thank you for the picture, Don!

My buddy emailed me this link, early this morning & i was like a kid at xmas!
I love "Catherine." That song has such a beautiful melody, and Ed really enhances it with some fusiony playing. Perfect.
"Rise" does sound a bit Vai-ish, though you can always tell Ed when you hear him. I like the groove & the funky main riff a lot. It sounds like he has that guitar sustainer going on over it, and that slight wah effect.
I guess this is the current sound he likes, as that tone was on the three new songs from "BOBW."
The clip was cool & the girls in the intro were hot!
I love big budget pornos & Edward VH, so i'm deffinately buying this DVD in September!

As mainstream (sorta) as porn has become, I still find it hard (pardon the pun) to believe Ed has resorted to doing this, but I guess that guy is his buddy and all, so he wanted to help him out and what the f&$*, why not? it's good to see the Frankie in circulation and it makes you wonder if he is indeed gearing up for a Dave reunion by using the Frankie? a touch of the past perhaps? at the very least, this gives us CVH people something to talk about instead of Dave's outfits. still can't believe I posted that one, but like I said, boredom will do that to you...

Wasn't there at the Roth Army this discussion about some porn soundtrack EVH was working on some months ago? I'm pretty sure I saw something about it there, man.

I think that doing the soundtrack to porn makes bluegrass versions of classic VH tunes look PRETTY DAMN CLASSY.

The boards have been lit up all day about this. Half hate it, the other half seem to like it. But nobody loves it. Whoompin ass shit? Best he's ever done? Edweird, you really have gone nutso man! It's garbage to my ears. Your career is now so bad that you've been reduced to being a hired gun for a porn soundtrack. You think that will get your music heard Ed? Who listens to the soundtrack anyway when watching porn? Will he show or play this for Wolfie? Hey, I've got nothing against porn really, it's just a bonehead move. Further, call it career suicide. He's over, he's done. What a final way to put the nail in the coffin of what little legacy was left.

    ...stay tuned for more Edweird
