Good to see you around, Gage.
I don't play the guitar, but I just love the famous EVH's Ibanez Destroyer a.k.a. Shark guitar. And the Charvel Star Guitar is another beauty.![]()

Wolfgang Van Halen - "I love being a bass player. It’s just me and Al — a groove section. Just boom, boom, boom, and we’re good". GW

Edward Van Halen - "What is next for Wolf is the next record and the next tour. He’s no different than I am. Music is his life. If he goes back to school, I’ll probably go with him.” GC
That's tough ...
I own alot of different guitars and I love them all.
Do I have to pick just one?![]()
I agree with Dino. like women, hard to pick just one. so I won't.
Gretsch Silver Jet
Hamer 5 neck
Ed's purple Ernie Ball doubleneck
Nigel Tufnel's Ernie Ball hot rod guitar
The Shark Destoyer
Of famous guitars, i'd say the VHII guitar for looks, and the shark for overall sound.
Personally, i love old Charvels (USA made), the Washburn Nuno strats (N2 & N4), and american or Japanese Fender stratocasters. Even the old Squiers from Japan are great axes, the ones from the early 80's.
The new Squiers & the mexican strats sound & feel strange to my ears.
Great beginner guitars, though.
White Fender Strat S,S,S with a maple neck, high action and heavy strings through a Marshall JCM. There is NOTHING on the world better than the sound through that guitar. As Joe Perry said 'Nothing beats the sound of a dying strat'
I love that stratty sound, something that you either enjoy or don't.
A Les Paul or SG is too easy, though both killer instruments.
The Gibsons don't have that articulation a strat does, where you can play fast and hear every note just pop out. It's also easier to grip a strat's neck & bend the note without slipping off the fretboard.
In the 80's i had an ebony Gibson SG (which i truly regret selling), and i traded it in for a second hand cream colored, maple necked strat with the original Fender tremolo.
After the fluid neck of the SG, the strat seemed difficult to play.
But once i got used to the strat, it was impossible to feel comfortable on a Gibson.
Ab-so-freekin-lutetly the Charvel Star for 6-stringers. As far as basses, I like the Curbow Elite Petite Strawberry Burst model 4-stringer.

Its the land of the free...BECAUSE of the brave!
That star sounded sick on the 1980 video clips, what a great tone that thing delivered.
I play a Gibson Les Paul Studio. It ROCKS!!! I can get the Edward sound w/ it playing thru my Marshall. I don't have a tremelo on it, but I haven't really used my tremelo on my other guitars in years it seems.
I like the way the line runs up the back of her stockings....
