Man, i love how the introduction just fades in! That cover is one of my faves, along with the sloppy, drunken solo, courtesy of eddie.

For me, I will have to go with "Little Guitars". It is just such a fun song to listen to and the care free attitude is pure VH. "Secrets" would be my second favorite.

ya know, I'm sitting here thinking about Diver Down and how much shit that album gets, but it's loaded with great CH tunes. yeah, it is Cover Tunes Central, but those are in the typical Vanhalenized groove, so they're great. Hang Em High, Secrets, The Full Bug, Cathedral, all GREAT tunes. DD is actually an album that is great to play at a party, even to this day.

DD is a very underrated album, to be honest it's one of my least listened to.

I like Full Bug, Hang 'em High, or Little Guitars.

I don't think their covers are bad, I mean I'm not into very many covers, but it sounds like it's their song.

If one were to give someone this album, I don't think they'd know a difference if it was a cover or not.
    Ready, Eddie!

I'd have to say Secrets, then Cathedral. I too wish they hadn't put so many covers on this disc, but I agree they did make them their own in the process. In fact, I didn't realize that "Where Have All the Good Times Gone" was a Kinks song until a couple of years after Diver Down came out.

And betwixt "Pretty Woman" and "Dancing in the Streets" my preference lies with the latter. It's just a better song than "Pretty Woman" in the first place, imho.

Cathedral is good because it shows another soloing bit that Ed does so well.
