ANTHRAX performed the first show of their "reunion" tour with Joey Belladonna on Friday night (April 29) at Harpo's in Detroit, Michigan. The group's setlist for the gig was as follows:

    01. Blues Brothers Intro
    02. Among the Living
    03. Got the Time
    04. Metal Thrashing Mad
    05. Caught in a Mosh
    06. AIR
    07. Keep It in the Family
    08. Antisocial
    09. Indians
    10. Armed and Dangerous
    11. Deathrider
    12. Medusa
    13. Efilnikufesin (NFL)
    14. Intro to Reality/Belly of the Beast
    15. I Am the Law
    Encore:
    16. Be All, End All
    17. I'm the Man
    18. Gung-ho

I've not really listened to this band much outside of a few mp3s... there's a bit of hype for this tour though, what do peoiple think?
"I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I donít care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it. My affections, being concentrated over a few people, are not spread all over Hell in a vile attempt to placate sulky, worthless shits."

I was a big fan of Anthrax during the Belladonna days, saw them a few times live,

once at the Donington Festival and in '87, the same year in Bristol and the year before in Cardiff supporting Metallica

If they play some club dates over the pond put me down for a ticket. :184:

Always been a big fan myself, and its nice to see some of the current band members make way for an old reunion tour. Its probably fair to say that this sort of thing would not happen with most bands, so fair play to John Bush and Co. :184:
Here's a useful link, to what others think of Anthrax.

Photographer Scott Harrison has taken a number of high-quality shots of ANTHRAX performing live at the House of Blues on Saturday (April 30). Harrison, whose work can be seen at http://www.harrisonphotos.com/, has granted BLABBERMOUTH.NET permission to share a few of the pictures at http://photobucket.com/albums/y160/B...tos/?start=all. Also available at the same location are photos of the members of ANTHRAX answering questions during a press conference which took place Saturday afternoon prior to the House of Blues show.

In a recent interview with Australia's The Metal Forge, ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello spoke about his decision to leave the group last year and his eventual return in time for the reunion tour.

"For both of us, it wasn't a healthy situation. We just had differences of opinions, honestly, and just needed to separate for a while. That's as honest as I can be with that. We just needed space to tell you truth and that's really what happened with it. Well, we both needed to make a change. It was a mutual agreement. We just needed to separate for a while. It was smart to do that."

Asked if his departure was caused by the usual musical differences and personality issues, Bello said, "A little of both. Personality. Musical. Stuff like that. It was mostly business. I hate the business of music. I love music but I hate the business. It takes the life out of it ó too much business. You have to play the game but when it gets to be too much, it's not good.

"I went to go jam with HELMET for a while and that was great. I did that and then I got a call about this reunion thing and it felt right. It was as easy as that. I believe that when my gut tells me to do something, I go with it, and that's what it was telling me. So it's the right thing to do at the right time."
