Ugh--this sounds atrocious!!!
Nuno shoulda signed on to do a one-off Extreme reunion.
I don't see this going anywhere...![]()
SATELLITE PARTY, the new band featuring vocalist Perry Farrell (JANE'S ADDICTION, PORNO FOR PYROS) and Nuno Bettencourt (EXTREME), are in the process of mixing their debut album for a tentative early 2006 release. The group, whose lineup is rounded out by Gabrielle, completed the recent album recordings with a combination of live playing and programming. A label deal is expected to be inked shortly. Erm.... I think I might take a pass on this one... Perhaps that lineup might've been cool in 1992, but in 2005?
Also, that has to be one of the worst promo shots I've ever seen!
"I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don’t care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it. My affections, being concentrated over a few people, are not spread all over Hell in a vile attempt to placate sulky, worthless shits."
~ William S. Burroughs
They tried to get him to do just that, on that VH1 special. I can't remember the name of it, a show where they try to reunite old bands who were once popular. He threw a fit in a restaurant when they approached him! Talk about a baby! Nuno's a weinie.Originally posted by NE169@Apr 28 2005, 07:11 PM

No, it probably won't go anywhere. Not a huge Perry Ferrell fan. He was great with Jane's Addiction for "Nothings Shocking" and "Ritual De Lo Habitual", but thats about it for me. Nuno is a great guitarist....should've just stuck with Extreme. This new "band" is gonna fizzle out really fast I think.Originally posted by i1sum2!@Apr 29 2005, 11:24 AM

That's the one I meant....
Former JANE'S ADDICTION frontman Perry Farrell has spoken to MTV.com about his next project, SATELLITE PARTY.
Described as "a hybrid of electronic, rock, experimental house and hip-hop", SATELLITE PARTY also features guitarist Nuno Bettencourt of EXTREME and seasoned world-music percussionist Gabriele Corcos, who is married to "Entourage" actress Debi Mazar.
"I've basically created a musical, and the musical involves a group of artists who call themselves the Solutionists," Farrell explained. "What they do is create flash mobs, where the dancers and musicians and fashionistas and fine artists all get together and collaborate and do these flash mobs in the city. They become a nuisance to the city, and one of the flash mobs causes a riot. The main guy in the story gets hurt, and he's brought to a hospital where he meets this beautiful night nurse and asks [her] to have his friends bring a radio. They begin to listen to the radio together at night, and one night they are transported up to the heavens through this radio transmission ... there's a vast visitation of energy that takes them up to the heavens, where they are involved in this lovely gala. That's what we call the SATELLITE PARTY."
Farrell's project has attracted major-label interest, and he's even lured some of music's biggest names to join the PARTY. THE BLACK EYED PEAS' Fergie will appear on three of the self-titled disc's 13 tracks, which include "The Woman in the Window" and "You Make My Hard Life Easy". He's also recruited PORNO FOR PYROS guitarist Peter DiStefano, JOY DIVISION/ NEW ORDER bassist Peter Hook and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' John Frusciante and Flea. Jack Irons, the PEPPERS' original drummer (and PEARL JAM's subsequent one), pounds the kit on a few tracks.
