Very true, that's the way it is now....and Sabbath promoted their record. That was kinda my point. These bands are iconic and people love to see them, but their new music aint selling with the kids. Even if the internet wasn't around yet it aint selling. They had there time.

Honestly, at this point, anything they release now shouldn't need much promotion. I was surprised they went on TV to promote a live record that was never gonna sell anyway. In the end it won't make much difference. Probably why ADKOT didn't get much promotion to begin with.

Once we got to 2000 their time was past.... with the youth. The days of hit records were over. It shoulda started then, but now more than ever it should be all about the fans. ADKOT and the live album was a start....hopefully Ed keeps it going.

It looks like I have the weekend off that VH comes to Houston so I will probably go to the show after all. The thing that pushed me over the edge to go is lawn tickets are $30 on groupon for the show here. It looks like that may be because sales or slow and if thats the case is it that way in all cities. I would think its going to be a huge disappointment for the band if they don't sell out most of the stops on this tour.

I cannot believe that my show is tomorrow, yet i'm in a rare Van Halen lull, meaning i'm
mainly listening to old Aerosmith and everything that's not VH.

These phases happen infrequently, and last a few weeks.

    BUT MY SHOW IS TOMORROW!

It's like having access to a cute girl or decent porn, but not being horny.

    WTF??!!

That seems to happen to me almost every time I see a band, or a new album is released.

Poor Skittles is being dragged along on this adventure.

She thought Steve Vai played the guitar solo on "Beat it."
How does she know Vai but not Eddie Van Halen?

I badgered her to go, bought the tickets.
She was the only one that had a car, or even a valid license.

Just tell her it's the next step in the relationship.

I do think they'll make it until the end of the tour, yep. The reason I say that is because before my show here in KC on July 22nd, that awful Billboard interview came out with Ed (once again) trashing everybody, including Dave. As I was telling unchained recently, if there was any animosity between Dave and Ed, you would have never known it. You could see them up there during songs talking to each other "off mic" while performing. Laughing and smiling like brothers.

Dave's voice is the only thing that might not make it. He's actually attempting to sing the songs as they were recorded now. I really had strong doubts after seeing his lousy performances on Kimmel and Ellen DeGeneres before the tour started. The night I saw him, he really only hit a handful of bum notes. I think they should drop DTNA from the set list as that seems to be his weakest moment. He continually struggles on that one.

Sum!! It's nice to hear from you again! I missed the show in Chicago....was trying to get last minute tickets but then I came down with something and was way to sick to go. Lucky I didn't buy tickets (I always wait until the last minute....I seem to get great seats for a reasonable price.

Thanks Freak. It has been awhile huh? Well that's too bad that you couldn't make it. I noticed that for each city, they kept dropping their prices with about a week to go. Lawn seats were around $30 here in KC.
