Ooohh, great stuff, man!! What a gem!

They sound so young, so full of energy, so happy. Happy to be playing and using their new gear, I'm sure.

Interesting, they would take in shows of different bands, more than once, even the crappy ones. I can't imagine everyone who was a part of that scene was doing that.

Yeah - pretty cool. I guess in their younger days they were super hyper extremely competitive and checked out everyone for the most part to soak it all in.

Here's a cool rare candid pic from California in 1979. Notice Neal Schon watching in the background.

    So true!

Just looking at Eddie in that pic, you can tell he was "the new breed" of guitar hero.
He just looks like he could wipe the floor with anyone, and guys like Schon knew it!
Even Ed's guitar screams, "I am from the future. Prepare to be blown off the stage!"

The shots from the Rockin Houston site are better I assume everyone's already seen them but here's the link again.

Wonder what the attendance of that Superdome show was? That place holds like 65,000. I'm sure it was nowhere near that. Just curious.

Pretty close this box office statistic page states 62,000.

When VH opened for The Stones and Doobie Brothers at the Superdome in '78 I think I remember reading that show was reported as being the highest attended indoor show in history at the time. ( Not 100% sure though I'd have to look it up. )
