Maybe some threads by year can help group old shit...

Here's a pretty good bootleg from Japan that's been around "Celebration of Big Rock" -- This remaster fixes pitch problem from the earlier release.

Also cool little bit on that 1979 show... Dave plays the melody line for "Could This Be Magic" for a few seconds at the beginning of Ice Cream Man (at 1:00). Don't think I've ever heard him do that.

Yeah I snagged this one a while back another killer boot for sure. I like these ones the best with the special stuff they didn't always do on most other shows.

Like the way they start Atomic Punk.

yeah lots of WACF bits on this one... Could this be magic stuff, Fools jam that they almost always did on 79 tour. Growth intro there was kinda rare.

Yeah, i love the little improv bits they'd do, which later would resurface on the third album & beyond.
I can picture them saying, "Shit, that was cool...we oughta use that in some form on the next record."
I love the primitive version of the Mean street intro on the Invasion tour, too.
Stuff like that is so magical, how they later refined it.

I swear i have an improv bit from '78 or '79, where Ed does that "Thump, thump, thump" (low E string with
the thumb, verse bit), that later was featured in "Panama."
It was the seed of that idea, which took form years later on '84.

1979 shows they seemed to have lots of little jam spots and interludes, more than later years.
In quiet sections you can almost hear a pin drop in the crowd being smaller theaters.
You can almost see and feel the more intimate setting vs later years in arenas.

Eddie's gonna do a little thing he wrote last year, on our first tour.
Ed likes to call this one, JUMP!

Yeah kinda cool to hear those old radio promos I remember hearing one from '82 on my local station CFOX they really get you pumped up almost count the day's till the show hits town.

Check this out it's an on air interview with Eddie & Alex from St. Paul in 1979. They sold out two shows.
