That's what I'm saying shouldn't paint everyone with the same brush is all.

My other main beef was about the moderator with two usernames who started this thread it cheapens the site to a laughing stock when it's the only new active thread going on at the time yesterday. Why the fuck would anybody care enough to even comment about if the people want to donate money. How's it even anyone else's business at all. Seems really untactful to me.

That mod with two names is actually an old friend of ours (and former mod).

The Links thing might seem more mean spirited than we actually feel.
Robbie's a character, so it's hard to resist (taking shots).

I'm sure the Links will live another day, though.

I don't want to waste my time typing a long post explaining why the Links is a thousand times better than this site but I'll make a comment anyways.

I'm not going to paint everybody here with the same brush the way some of you guys do to them because I know there were a few cool people here that don't post the shit like you guys in this particular thread do.

You've killed your own site here over a year ago and must be absolutely delusional if you can't figure out why this place is a black hole.

You have this Roth Army reject windowlicker " Mezro/DLR73/Ironica ", and whatever other usernames he uses as a moderator posting retarded useless bullshit tabloid threads in fruity colored text.

He made two good threads. One with the pictures of VH with the young girls and the Keni Richards interview. Everything else is boring useless childlike horseshit.

Maybe " Mr Smooth " is another alias I dont know but I do know it's not normal for to post in color. Nobody else on the entire internet does that.

You guys seem to be begging for someone to come here and argue with you to fill some void in your life I guess. Talking shit about the Links donation last year must have been exciting for you I guess.

Both you and that other fuckhead from here that now's at the Links are obsessed with sites you don't even post on anymore.

But clearly you both read each other site then make your comments on the opposite sites like pathetic cowards because neither one of you have the guts to say whatever pea brain bullshit is on your mind directly towards each other. It's all beyond ridiculous. But this is your life I guess.

At least 1234 went over there once and did his thing by speaking directly to the people you guys like to mock for whatever reason.

Almost everything some of you guys post about is Hagar related comments. So fucking boring to read here, at the Links, VHND, Roth Army, and most of the Facebook pages.

Once I see the Sam and Dave comments I just quickly scroll through it all. There's nothing new to be said anywhere on the net.

Seems like that's the only VH topic you guys ever talk about. Must suck to be you.

Sam/Dave/Sam/Dave blah, blah, blah. What kind of adult in their 40's even give a shit anymore.

Another thing I'll point out. All other Van Halen sites start with the letter " V ".

    VHND
    VH Links
    VH Net
Even the old ones that aren't online anymore.
    VH Vault
    VH Cafe

Etc, Etc. So even if someone was looking to find a VH site through Google or whatever this site most likely wouldn't even show up. LMFAO.

Like I said, I'm not going to criticize this site or the owner and other normal people but this site is so outdated its not even funny. Classic Van Halen as a site name means no appreciation for them nowadays.

Even if the Links and all the other sites closed down no one would bother to post here at all. It's because the commentary and threads suck. Just the same old people with the same old bullshit. This site has been useless for quite a while now.
We are very different to other Van Halen sites.

We are more like a private members club. We don't advertise. Maybe we ought to be, 'by invitation only'.

For the last 3 months until last week, this site was closed to all new member registrations.

I personally see ClassicVanHalen.com as a specialist website, strictly for connoisseurs who understand, recognize and appreciate the qualities and essence that went in to making The Mighty Van Halen.

To be honest, I'm not sure if the rest of your post warrants a reply as the members on here are predominately focused on the classic era of Van Halen and not Sammy Hagar. I have just had a quick review of the main section which confirms that fact.

Don't drag me into this bullshit.

DLR1973 : I like most of your posts, especially the video links and pictures. You have provided many things I've not seen on other sites, and thank you for your contributions, and polite demeanor.

I won't go that route & be a fucking cheerleader for all eras.

I'm kinda surprised by Heisenberg's comments & kinda not.
I've seen that side of him before.
I guess it's directed at me for creating the void or "black hole, " but fuck it.
Plenty of lurkers on here, reading these daily soap operas!
Exactly right. We receive a lot of traffic, more than most people realize.

The view counter on each thread works intermittently and doesn't give an accurate figure for the number of views.

So certain threads receive a far higher number of views than the counter has recorded.

We are certainly aware of recent issues with the counters and we are monitoring the situation.

And regarding the number of active members on ClassicVanHalen.com, maybe it is right to judge this site on the accurate appreciation of it's subject matter rather than how many people we could sign up who would possibly misunderstand what Van Halen represents and who could demonstrate apathy or indifference towards the classic era of Van Halen?

Sometimes i'll scan this site late at night/early in the morning, and i'm always surprised
    by the amount of lurkers.

Certain threads that get heated, tons of lurkers will be viewing them.

People might just be shy, scared or whatever, but they view the threads.

Speaking of the Links, i noticed old Sum is back on there under a new alias.
I recognized the alias from his old email (which i won't share), then i read the posts.
    Yup, he's back.

Too bad he avoids this place, though.

People rag on us for having so few members, yet they could help by joining the site.

I still say this site is special, which is why i chose this one way back in 2004.

I can't remember why Sum took a break from this site, but it would be good to have him back on here.

Had a look at Roth Army and VHLinks. It strikes me that the Army tend to overload on personal opinion but get their facts straight. The latter tend to have a mix of facts, opinions and misinformation.

Must be hard having such a diverse range of fans of different eras, each focusing mainly on the era that they prefer but also commenting on all aspects of the bands history, with sometimes the results being just plain wrong and inevitably producing misinformation.

For those that are so anti-classic Van Halen, the sensible option would be to join Sammy Hagar's personal website, redrocker.com and post in it's forum.

I miss Sum, not only being a local boy we both hung out at some of the same haunts in our younger day. He was an opinionated cat who brought a lot to the forum. Also Mallon was a pretty cool dude even though we got into it a few times early on. And what was the guys name from up north I think that built guitars? Ron I think? And the guy from Amarillo, Dave that posted an endless supply of scantily clad females was cool as well.

The forum needs some new blood and I could care less if they thought Sam was better, it would be up to us to set them straight.

Yeah, Ron & Dino both built guitars & hung out here.

Mallon became a mod, then promptly vanished.
He was into Rockabilly, if i remember correctly.

Poor Dave had posted some news that his cancer battle was serious.
He had been selling some gear on here, to get some cash.
Haven't heard from him in a while, hopefully he's okay.

I really like both Punk & Simon, but as mods, i wish they'd do their part
and contribute here (and help keep this site alive).

ICM bailed for reasons unknown, also a mod.

We desperately need active mods to keep the conversation flowing.

When VH releases some new stuff, this place will come alive again.
It can't be "Van Halen" without Roth, any more than it can be "Van Halen" without Eddie.
