Paul Gilbert and Dweezil Zappa chatting

A great little chat with PG and the Dweez, talking about rhythmic ideas in soloing.

I just watched this . Cool stuff . Funny to see Paul being the 'student' ! LOL
    Kidding ...

Dweezil -"You can have all this complex rhythmic stuff going on , but you're just playing a phone number "

Looks like Gilbert had one of those modelling Marshall combos (under the head and THD unit) , while Zappa appeared to have a Peavey Vypyr barely sticking out . I'd like to try both of those amps !

Haven't seen it yet, but Dweezil is a fucking machine. He went from EVH rip off to Hybrid/Economy picking badass!! He rocks very hard these days. I loved PG when he burned; hate his blues stuff.

I was really impressed by his "Zappa Plays Zappa" dvd ! Dweezil always reminded me of another EVH clone , but he's really evolved a lot over the years . He's got a lot of chops and talent .

I saw ZpZ the first time they came here and Dweezil was incredible. Vai played a few tunes and Brett Garsed jammed with the band. It was a brilliant gig.

That's really neat . It would certainly be a great show to see live . Dweezil and Vai have a certain pedigree together , ala Frank's music and mentoring .
I'd like to see more stuff of them performing as a duo . Sort of like a G3 scenario but sans Satch . LOL
