New VH album in 18 months?

Was just on my Yahoo page & Van Halen was the number one trending topic!
I clicked on, and several stories confirm VH is working on new music, with a timetable of 18 months.
Looks like these guys still have a ton of interest, going by this Yahoo "trend" deal.

I guess JD was right all along...

Yes, the info is based on the Jim Florentine interview from a month or so ago.

Jesus I remember when they could plop out album in 30 days or so.

Do they all the sudden think they are Boston or some shit?

Boston have a new CD out tomorrow!

But, yeah, VH would knock out a record a year, and it would be a kickass album to boot.
I think WACF was done in eight days, and it might be their best.

It's odd how the older they get, the more time band's take to make an album.
You'd think there'd be more of a sense of urgency.

Regardless, another record is on the way!
    Who would have thunk it?

If this is true, it has definitely brightened up this crap day.

I think it's fine that it's taken over a year, they've done a lot of touring together. Older bands take longer to record and put out new albums, that's the trend I've seen. It's not like Pop music where you can expect it every year.

Really, there's not even that many pop artists who put out an album every year, these days. Seems like the norm is every 2 yrs now. But a lot of bands are every 2-3 yrs now, not just the dinosaurs like VH.

Of course, in just a few short weeks, it will already have been 2 yrs since "Tattoo" hit the airwaves so VH seems to be right on track lol!

That's cool to know they are trending so popularly. Van Halen is a bigger name in music than even we diehards sometimes give them credit for. If not, than their tours wouldnt be so hugely successful, despite some pretty steep ticket prices for "just another 80s hair metal band" that a lot of people in the mainstream erroneously label them.

I think Rihanna is the only one to put out a record a year, but she's an anomaly.

All the others, from Katy Perry to U2, take years in between.

On Facebook, the VH news desk also mentioned Van Halen trending at number one on Yahoo.
    To me, that's amazing!
People still follow this band like those that follow Pink Floyd or Springsteen.

Always some new internet buzzword I need to learn.

    Planking, twerking, now trending.

I already heard DLR say that 3 months ago when the podcast first came out. Now all of a sudden out of the blue it is some sort of big news story.
