I also thought Dave sounded pretty good on most of the youtube videos

Would be an improvement if he didn't try and sing so high. I think the brothers might be behind that.

They are aware they haven't got Mike's vocals in the mix, so I think they have instructed Roth that he is to sing in a higher range.

I wonder if the headset microphone was Dave's choice?

All the fans assumed Dave was the one who wanted it, but Eddie and Alex are total control freaks.

When Dave had the headset microphone he appeared to be copying Sammy Hagar.

I think Dave is going through that "mid-life crisis" where older musicians try to emulate their younger days. The young blood might be giving him some competition. Which is weird, he never seemed to care that Mike had a higher range than he.
    Ready, Eddie!

He appears to have gained a new found respect for Michael Anthony.

Maybe Dave sees Van Halen played out a little differently than we do over the next few years.

Regarding Van Halen, I wouldn't be surprised if Dave feels like an outsider and sees more synergy between himself and Michael Anthony.

Based on Mike's and Dave's experiences with Eddie and Alex, I can see Dave and Mike connecting with each other in a way that they never did in the past.

Maybe they might even work together as a political force within the band.

Obviously, this requires Michael Anthony to return to Van Halen, on which Dave has given me the impression that he is expecting this to happen at some point.

Couldn't he wear the headset, because he's Roth and he's a goofball? Why does it have to be because he wants to copy Hagar? Roth is his own entity.

The only possible scenario of Mike getting back in, would be Wolfgang
quitting, Dave bailing or being fired (after Wolf leaving), and Sammy rejoining the band.
Mike's relationship is with Sammy, there's no interaction between himself & Dave.

Sam & Mike are in the rear-view, for Edward.
Wolf is the last Bass player to ever record & share a stage with VH.

Thank you. I dont see Mike coming back unless he can bring his good buddy with him.

Read the foreward to Sammy's book by Mike.

    They are a package deal.
Mike & his wife truly believe VH became a better band with Hagar fronting.

Given Ed's relationship with his son (and none of this new stuff happens without Wolf) I don't see how Dave could ever expect this too happen.
