I just happened upon this on YT. Maybe Rock really is dead, or is on it's way to becoming kinda like going to the opera?

Reading that KISS book (Nothin' to lose), and it's clear that all four members of KISS
began their careers as really nice guys.

Even the Creem writers confirmed how cool they were, as people.

What happened after the 70's, to make them such primadonnas?

    Disco and the Elder?

I don't think Ace and Peter are near the primadonnas that Paul and Gene{especially}. Gene saw KISS as a corporation and a brand name regardless of who was in the band. Ace and Peter were much different.

But i think that came much later on, where Gene sort of became this caricature of his
    former self.
He embraced that "money obsessed/corporate whore," thing, later on.

But, in that book, which chronicles 72-75, he seemed like a great guy.
The whole Cadillac, Michigan, story, those guys went above & beyond for those kids and
    that community.

Also, the creem story, where the writer got to be a fifth Kiss member & go onstage with them,
they were accomidating to any request.

And the story of the writer who met Gene on a plane or something, and when he mentioned his name, Gene pulled out a concert review that the guy had written years earlier.

I mentioned "contempt for your audience". An old housemate of mine worked some construction on the grounds of Gene Simmons house about 15 years ago (he is no fan, couldn't care less about KISS), and one of the kids on the crew told Gene how much he loved KISS. Gene was a dismissive dick, and sarcastically said something like "thanks for paying for my new pool". Once the money really poured in, and the fervent, mass adulation (coupled with being dismissed by "serious" media), their cynicism really took over. Like I said, I think there is an element of self preservation to it.

Yak yak yak, yuk yuk yuk.......... The only thing worse then Stanley opening his yapper and displaying his double digit IQ is the Nose doing the same thing. Tries hard to sound intelligent but comes off sounding like a pretentious twat.
    And.....
Those scabs don't even slightly resemble the original members besides the makeup and constumes.

The only thing that would make this ceremony a must-see is if the ghost of Cobain showed up and assassinated Courtney Love and Dave whatever his name is. It could be a 2 for 1 and a win win for all involved.

Just ridiculous he thinks those guys shoulda been inducted. He has to know, even they don't think they should be inducted. At this point they should just stay home and let Peter and Ace handle it.

Have Kiss completely boycotted the event? This article mentions they have.
