I've always wanted one, my whole life.

I have about a grand in tax money coming my way, too...

I'm gonna do it, Mexican or not.
    Go for it !
I'm thinking the same thing .

Will you play yours or keep it as a collector's piece ?

Are you kidding, i'm going to sleep with the thing!

I will definitely play it, because you just know it will be a player.
I also plan to keep it out, so if anyone drops by, it would be a cool conversation
    piece.

I checked on eBay, and a lot of them are already sold.
Should i pull the trigger online, or get one reserved at Guitar Center, which will
    match the price.

I would reserve it at Guitar Center. You want to check these out and make sure there's no f-ups with them.

When Fender first brought back the Charvels they had a Bumblebee, and the paint looked really foggy, almost like there was sawdust trapped in it, and I was feeling rough fret ends. I looked at forums when I got home and there were a lot of reports of that. Not saying that's going to be the case with these, but I would want to see and feel it first. With the first batch, you're sort of a "beta tester."

    Those are some good points.

I have two Guitar Center's within walking distance of my work (one just moved into, where the old DADDYS used to be).
I'd feel more secure, in this case, reserving and picking this thing up in person, instead of having it mailed out with UPS.
At least, i'd be covered, and Guitar Center has always been customer based, as far as returns or issues might be concerned.
Musician's Friend is good too, and probably more secure than eBay, in this case.

I'd just feel bad if they reserve it, i try it out, and it's maybe a lemon.
I would hate to be the guy that says, "Thanks, but now i don't want it."

And i have made up my mind, i do want one.

    Guitar Center, it will be.

    I plan to.

I only have a Marshall Lead 12, as an amp, though.
It looks cool and vintage, for a small amp, but it's actually solid state (which i never realized).
It's far less "gainey" than those MG series, though.

If it doesn't have a standby switch, then it's solid state.

Also if it's small and lightweight.

I was looking at the specs of the EVH Art Series guitars, and they were also basswood bodies, and the paintjobs were extremely similar, with the "5150" guitar still having a Frankie-ish paint job. It seems like the only difference is the tremolo won't be a German Floyd Rose, but as I say, for us weekend warriors and hobbyists, it'll probably last our lifetimes.

I also read that the EVH Art guitars originally sold for $2,200 but could later be bought for $1,200. (I think they've gone up since then.) I'm hoping I can benefit from a similar price drop at some point, maybe.

I long ago got rid of my 5150 amps and Marshall cabs .
Lately i'm running through a 10 watt Roland COSM amp . Great for practicing and fooling around , with a few amp models and built in effects .

It's not like we're gigging anymore . Just enough home gear to plug in and get lost in the moment ...

    100% .
They've never done an accurate Frankie clone in any of the EVH series runs , lately .
The ART series blew , and the 2013 models look kinda gay too .

The B/W and Bumblebee designs look fantastic !
