No shit! what a stupid fukin thread it aint gonna happen with an online petition..
I've got to agree with these sentiments. I was thinking about deleting this thread entirely when I saw it wasn't about an actual release. It's like saying, "JESUS HAS RETURNED!!!...Okay, first, we petition the Lord with prayer..." You cannot petition the Lord with prayer! (Get the Doors reference?) Anyhow, yeah, I can admire the can-do attitude, but this is kind of a goofy first post.

    This guy was annoying.

Eddie: Oh man, they got an online petition going, now...

Dave: Awww fuck, now we've got no say in the matter.

Eddie: (sigh) Guess we gotta open the vaults, afterall...

Are you actually saying you would rather there be NO Van Halen in the future, as long as we could have a film of Oakland 81? I think I'd have to pass on that, with as well as the band is sounding right now. Of course, in a perfect world, we'd have both!

I have my doubts that a complete show exists. I recall Roth mentioning technical difficulties from the first night, and I don't know that they filmed a complete show. There may just be the 3 songs they released, and some filler action footage to round out the videos. Film is expensive, and if they only intended to make some videos for "Fair Warning" they didn't necessarily film everything. I know people will hate me for putting this out there, but I have never heard anyone associated with the band claim to have seen, or worked with a complete show worth of film. If I am wrong, please direct me to an article or interview.
It can't be "Van Halen" without Roth, any more than it can be "Van Halen" without Eddie.

You may be right, but I still think it would be cool as hell to assemble an elite team of VH superfans to break into Warner Bros. and 5150 in search of the Holy Grail! I'm in. Who's comin' with me??

Oh, I'm in on anything like that!

We saw some pro-shot of "Sinner's Swing," from Oakland, a couple years back.
It was bad audio, but the video seemed to be multi-camera (if i remember correctly).
I think Oakland exists in pieces, with varying quality.

The three tunes from DK, though, were the best VH i've ever seen or heard!
You can't beat those Oakland vids, they are in a class by themselves.
The US FEST wasn't even close to those live vids.

YES! I had posted this a while back and swore scenes from it were un-realeased. I still stand by that!
