Just do a lyric search on the song and you'll be feeling sick. "Hell BaaaybY!" They actually opened the album with this garbage.
Summer Nights is simply horrible as well; nothing Eddie can do on the guitar can save that song.
I agree with you on both counts... sam sure can ruin a riff.

But, to me, this takes the cake:

    Hey!
    Alright!
    Woo!
How 'bout 'cha now, come on!
    Oh yeah!
    Dig it! That's right
    Is everybody ready? Let's go!

(Movin' up and down) Up 'n down
(Round and round) Oh, round and round
(Movin' up and down) In 'n out
    (Round and round) Yeow!

    Crank it! Blow out!
    Uh! Ouch!
    Help me
    Now flip on over
Oh baby, you know that I like it
    (Woop! Woop! Woop!)

(Movin' up and down) She choked the chain
(Round and round) She got the hook
(Movin' up and down) Can't get away
    (Round and round) Ohhhhh!

Fever starts to climb, reaching 105°
I need another shot o' your love

Love! Love is the source (of infection)
Love! Love is the source (of infection)

    Hey, Eddie!
    Say what?
Yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about
    Wax it on down
    Woo!
    Ready, set, go!

    (Guitar Solo)

    Oh yeah

    Woo!
    That's right!

Love, love is the source (of infection)

Supremely shitty, even by sam's very, very low standards.

    Wow.

I haven't seen the lyrics to or listened to that song perhaps since the first time I played it.
    No Joke.

For a second there, I though that you may have cobbled together an assortment of the worse Sammy lyrics to create a Frankenstein.
That, that thing that you posted is mind numbingly, cringe inducingly, painfully hideous.

    "Hey!"
    "Alright!"
    "Woo!"
And it only gets worse from there.

Sammy exceeded my RDA of "Heys" hell - my Lifetime Recomended Allowance of "Heys" within the first song of 5150.
There was truly nothing that Edward could do on guitar that could save these songs from the gutter.

Thanks for taking the time to write that out. I salute you because you had to listen to the entire song to copy the lyrics.

The worst thing about this board is that whenever a Van Hagar song is referenced, the song creeps back into my consciousness. I haven't listened to that stuff since it was released, and have avoided it like the plague all these years, but the scars still run deep! I had completely forgotten "Feels So Good" (or I thought I did), but once it was referenced here, and it came back like a repressed, traumatic childhood experience.
It can't be "Van Halen" without Roth, any more than it can be "Van Halen" without Eddie.

    Hahahahahahaha!!!

Oh my god VAiN...please tell me you copied those lyrics off a lyric site and didn't actually listen to that tripe. If you did, I doubly thank you for a great laugh. What a steaming pile of garbage.

I might have to change my mind about THE worst song ever. Formerly, I have always cited this one:
    Well!
She treat me like a personal Jesus
Got the hand...put it where its gonna heal ya
Got the finger...put it right there on the trigger
Well, pump it up, pump it up
    Baby make it bigger

    Well... Im Going crazy
Pumping it up, pumping it up
    (ewww ohhh ya)
    It's gonna heal ya

She put the cream in my coffee (first thing in the morning)
Put that butter on my biscuit (honeydew my melons)
Cherries on bananas (gonna need a second helpin')
You know I'm up for breakfast so early in the morning

Lock the front ...Leave the back door open
Hot tub loosen up ...baby been soaking
    Been tokin'...been sippin'
Slip slide slippin ... all got me tripping

    Well... Im Going crazy
Keeping it up... pumping it up, pumping it up
    Aint gonna kill ya

She put the cream in my coffee (first thing in the morning)
Spread that butter on my biscuit (honeydew my melon)
Put berries on bananas (I need a second helping)
That's why I'm up for breakfast so early in the morning

    Wake me up babe
Hold me up, wake me up... Gotta get up, gotta get up, gotta get up, gotta get up.

    [GUITAR SOLO]

She put the cream in my coffee (first thing in the morning)
Spread hot butter on my biscuit (honeydew my melon)
Like them cherries on bananas (gonna need a second helping)
Thats why I'm up for breakfast so early in the morning

Got bacon on the table (first thing in the morning)
Squeeze some honey on my biscuit (honeydew my melon)
Spread some cream on my bananas (I need a second helping)
You know I'm up for breakfast so early in the mornin'

    Wake me up babe
    Wake me up babe
    Lift me up baby
Gotta get up, Gotta get up
Black coffee first thing in the morningGotta get up

I don't know though.....any song that seriously contains the phrase "Woop! Woop! Woop!" is a serious contender. Hafta rethink this now....

Don't forget the grand daddy of them all: "Only time will tell if we stand the test of time."

lol I feel bad for Sammy, because I think he honestly thinks his songs are better than Dave's. I saw him on Jimmy Kimmel and he said a Van Halen/Sammy Hagar reunion one of these days is inevitable because, "Ed and I wrote some of the greatest American rock songs of all time together."

If I deleted Sam's vocals on Source Of Infection I could atleast listen to Ed an Al play a fast shuffle. If I delete Sam from WCTBL, what's left? Generic 80s synth pop. WCTBL I still dislike the most.

It's particularly disturbing because it's Sammy porn.
If I want porn, I'll go find it - I don't want the male version from Sammy.
This insight into Sammys' creepy little mind is gross.
To his credit, Dave was much better with words and never needed to get graphic - Dave knew how to make the listeners own mind do the work.
