    2012: The Year of VH??

Well, 2011 fell flat... VH wise.
We had the good news that a major label signed them.
    That's about it.

    So, 2012 on the horizon.
    Surely something has to happen.

Predictions, idea's, insights, or pure speculation please.

    What can we expect?
    What can we hope for?

Jan or Feb release for a new record?
    A single?
    Summer Tour?
World or just North America again?

Hopefully it will be a big year for VH and Warner Bros. will be prompted to cash in on the VH name by dipping into the archives.

So what say ye? 2012: The Year of VH. Yay or Nay?

Honestly, they should have been done with this whole deal 2 years ago or at least by 2010.

If they didn't make a peep in 2011, what can we expect in 2012 but the same thing that's going on right now.

I hope there's some snippet of news, REAL NEWS, not hearsay or something BS from an "insider."

As far as I'm concerned, there's absolutely nothing going on in the VH camp but maybe some tinkering in the studio.

We can hope for an album or something from the band.
And we can sure as hell expect bitter disappointment from them as well.
    Ready, Eddie!

That's a given, my friend. Unfortunately.

It's all good though: I'm watching Enter the Dragon in HD on telly.
    So fuck em' all.

If they were smart, they would do some kind of a build up after the New Year.
If the new recording is truly wrapped up (who knows) it would be nice for them to start up the web site for example.
Get some interviews out there, and release the recording for spring/summer.
    Tour to follow.

'Course, we're talking Van Halen here so...

I feel like they wasted so much time, post 2007/08 tour.
These guys were old then, now they're really old!
They keep missing these windows to act & do something, instead they just stroll
    leisurely onward, probablly bickering.

I am very surprised we didn't get that first radio single by Summer (July 4th would have been perfect).
I am surprised i don't have the album in my hand right now.
October would have been the prime spot, not fucking January, February & March.

I think they will realize this, and hold off with releasing anything until Spring/Summer.
Another wasted year, another year older.

I love Van Halen, but they just seem incredibly lazy and dysfunctional, by today's standards.
Even Styx & Journey are bangin' 'em out, and touring every year, it seems.
VH never seems ready to commit to anything, even the smallest thing.

I'm not, they were just rumours. Nothing has been made official except for maybe the Interscope signing.
But I was very disappointed when nothing happened at the Grammy Nomination Night... I finally let myself get my hopes up.

    Hey Iro

I've honestly let VH go, in the sense that I'll never forget the times I had listening to Eddie but I'm not gonna give the future of VH more than a wee think once in a while. Whatever happens will be positive for me if they're enjoying themselves, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'll buy the album or concert-ticket if I'm not sporting at least a semi over the music. All I want is for those guys to be 'happy' (I reckon that could possibly be way too much to ask though) and if it somehow doesn't include VH making music I enjoy, then so be it.

    Off Topic:

I just spend a mindboggling amount of hours watching 'The men that killed Kennedy'. I don't think I ever watched the entire series before.

    Cheers!

They really missed the sweet spot.
If they would have gotten into the studio some reasonable time after the 2007/08 tour and gotten a recording out within a year and a half say of that tour -
Then toured off of that recording -
They could have really struck while the proverbial iron was still hot.

They fell right off the crest of the wave and are paddling in the eddy. (Unintentional pun.)
