    Rocks-era, 1976

"Rocks" era/'76 shows, are hard to come by for Aerosmith bootlegs, as far as one's with decent sound quality.

Some guy listed about 60 shows from 73-78, and i think i downloaded every one!
There were plenty good sounding shows from '74 & '78, but all the '76 era one's sounded like they were recorded thirteen miles, outside the venue.

    Except this one...

    1976 in Paris!
Loud, raw as hell, total Aero-swagger (the drugs hadn't quite set in, yet).
This is a tight, focused show, well worth having.
Joe is pretty loud, and he just has so much funk in his live playing.
Next to VH, 70's Aerosmith is as close to perfection as it get's.
Joe is no virtuoso, but he's so freaking good!

Absolute killer versions of "Rats in the cellar" and "Sweet emotion."

I'm tired of "Sweet Emotion," yet this version sounds especially aggressive.
"Write me a letter" and "Sick as a Dog" are other standouts.

I'm in a total Joe Perry/ Angus Young mode, lately.

I'm tired of shred, these guys just flat-out rock.
Joe plays so many of his classic 70's era licks on this boot, "Rats in the cellar" just kills!

Was listening to the "Rocks" tune, "Home tonight", and the solo on that one...
My God, it's so "off the wall", kinda sloppy, but absolutely perfect!
I have no idea where Joe came up with that one, it's got these odd little licks
in it, but it sounds improvised.
