EVH's effects in this song: Sunday Afternoon in the Park

I was listening to this show, Boston Gardens 7/25/81.
and the band did a song called Sunday Afternoon in the Park.
I dont know what the effects are that EVH uses but it sounds really cool and I'd like to know.

SAITP is actually a song on Fair Warning and Ed played it on synth, though Mike occasinally played it on bass for his bass solo during the RHRN tour in 1993.

Couldn't find a live version, but here's the FW studio version.

Never knew they played this song live. I thought this song was mostly keyboard/synth stuff, until it segued into "One foot out the door"?
Killer song. The whole album is great. Ed wrote it because he was pissed at Valerie about something, thats why its so dark.

EVH used an Electro-Harmonix micro synthesizer. He also connected the keyboards to Alex's bass drum beat to make that weird "beow beow-beow" sound.

    Cool stuff, IMHO.
