I still want to visit all three of the cities you mentioned.
I think I'd fit in slightly in Chicago because of the Polish influence, and maybe Boston and NY just for the "fuck you" attitude, but Cali is my place.

1981 Van Halen was the pinnacle along with 1972 Zeppelin.

But that concert.. Wow, to see them rocking out like that.
I felt such a sense of pride watching Tony, knowing that he just beat cancer, but is playing the heaviest riffs ever.
"Under the Sun" was the best concert moment of my life.
"Children of the Grave" was insane, too...
Something about the sludgier songs translated much better in a live setting.

No Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Sabotage, though!

I do love Sabbath, but i still say VH was untouchable circa 1981.
Those Oakland clips are the best concert i've never been to!

But Sabbath is an entity unto itself.
