  1. Hey man, all day yesterday & today, the big story is the poor surfer that was cut in half by a Great White, off the coast in
    Australia!
I am so fascinated by this, just the fact that the shark did this almost deliberately.
I can't even imagine the horror, and these other guys witnessed it & tried to retrieve the sufer's body.
The news said that Australia has the most dangerous waters, for surfers & beach goers.
Why was this young kid surfing those dangerous waters?!!
I just can't stop thinking about this story.
  2. Without Ritchie, the entire rock and metal scene would be completely different.
Randy always gets praised for introducing a classical influence into hard rock.
Ritchie was doing that years before him!

So apparently Black Sabbath are complete shtick, and Deep Purple are just crap. Okay..
  3. I don't understand the lack of respect for Rainbow.
Rainbow was even more Ritchie's vision than even Deep Purple.
Albums like, Rising, are as essential as any Randy Rhoads or Michael Schenker offering.
Ritchie was a hugely important player, that influenced a million guys, yet never gets his due.
  4. I kind of understand the critiquing of Dio and even Rainbow.. But lumping Deep Purple into some category of "shitty" bands?
    Ridiculous.
Deep Purple had more influence on the European music scene (outside of the UK) than any other hard rock band. Probably had more of an influence on the NWOBHM and even the thrash scene than Zeppelin.
  5. Did you read that conversation regarding Deep Purple, Dio & Rainbow?!
How freakin' clueless can people be?!
    Wow.
  6. I thought that Ozzy wrote the lyrics up until I was about fourteen and read other wise.
At least Slash chose the Ozzy era haha.

They're gonna be called sell outs now.
I don't care, at least now I'll be able to find their albums in real life!
  7. Oh God, there was another foolish comment in that issue of Metal Hammer.
Slash, who's obviously NOT a big metal guy, says: "Dio was great, but i'd have to go
with Ozzy fronting Sabbath. Ozzy had the right voice for the riffs, plus he was a great lyricist."
Wait! Didn't Geezer Butler write those lyrics! LOL.

Ghost just signed a huge deal with a major label, just shy of a million dollars.
That was also in the current Metal Hammer.
  8. It's too tough of a choice for me..

    In no specific order:

    - War Pigs outro riff (cliche, I know)
    - Into The Void
    - Lord of this World
    - Supernaut
    - Under the Sun
    - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
    - National Acrobat
    - Spiral Architect
    - Sabbra Cadabra
    - Megolamania heavier riff
    - Symptom of the Universe "chorus" riff
    - Supertzar
    - The Writ

Oh God, I am really bad at making edited lists, LOL
  9. I kid you not, jack.

My list would have been really obscure, but pure (for me):
    5. A National Acrobat
    4. Thrill of it all
    3. Into the void
    2. Megalomania/Hole in the sky
    1. Symptom of the Universe

Actually, i'd need Supernaut & Sabbath Bloody Sabbath & Lord of this World, on that list, as well.
  10. What the hell? How is that even possible?

    My cousin loves Black Sabbath.
Yep, he loves them alright. Just his own songs though. "NIB", "Paranoid", "Iron Man", "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and "National Acrobat".
That's still better than his Dad who just plays "Paranoid" on repeat in the car.
One time my cousin was playing some Sabbath on his computer, so I told him to listen to this and put on "Supernaut".
He looked at me like I was an idiot after a few seconds and said "Ok, I want to listen to my own music now" and put on "NIB" or whatever...
    What the hell?
It's not just him. My generation likes a few tunes of a band but refuse to venture deeper. It's baffling.
